Weekly Internship Announcement: 9/2011 - 9/23/11

For those of you that want to Travel the World

The YMCA Global Teens Travel Program is coming to Renaissance on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:50pm (during lunch). You can read about this program here. 

If you would like to attend this presentation, please email Girelle at girelleguzman@gmail.com by Friday, September 23 during lunch 11:50am-12:30pm. In your email, specify if you will need a bag lunch. 


5 Questions Students Asked Frequently this Week 

1- I am taking a College Now Class, do I need to be in an internship?
YES. All students are required to be in an internship program. 

2- My internship is far, do I get a Metrocard?
We are able to provide Metrocards to students who DO NOT have a full-fare card. These Metrocards are given on a first come first serve basis. If you are already enrolled in a program that is not within walking distance and you don't have a full-fare card, email me immediately at girelleguzman@gmail.com 

3- I already found an internship. May I bring you the Enrollment Verification Form and Learning Contract before October 14, 2011?
Yes. As soon as you enroll in a program, bring me the forms. The sooner the better. 

4- What do I do on Wednesdays if I don't have an internship on that day?
Students who are not in a program on Wednesday at TRCS must go home at 1:30pm. If you are the 82nd street after-school program, you must leave the building at 1:30pm and return at 3:10pm.

5- Do the Wednesday Arts Programs in music, visual art and drama count for internship?
No. This year, the Wednesday are programs are considered electives. Students who enroll and complete these classes successfully will receive credit.
