College Application Forms
Letters of Recommendation
Colleges are interested in recruiting students who are interesting, worldly, passionate involved and caring. Resumes are the space where you tell colleges, scholarships and potential employers who you are outside of the classroom, what interests you and how you have decided to pursue those interests. Very often, colleges (and scholarships) base their acceptance decisions on your extra-curricular involvement. For this, it is very important you get involved in extra-curricular activities while in high school and that you progressively document these activities in your resume.

Getting Started
This worksheet can help you organize the information you need to build your resume. You can also draw inspiration from this sample resume.

    Good afternoon seniors,

It was great to see you this week. I am excited to begin the college application process with you.

Visit our blog. Review the calendar. There, you will find deadlines you must meet and other very useful information. Read the Leadership Program guidelines and paperwork that must be submitted. Research programs.

Please review the 2012-2013 College Application Procedures carefully. If you have questions, please email me. On the last page of the document you will find a section where you and your parent/guardian must sign. Please tear-off that section and submit it to the College Office staff by Friday, September 21, 2012.

As I mentioned during class today, Herminia Gomez, our CUNY representative will visit your class on Wednesday, September 19th. Please come to class prepared:
Review the CUNY package distributed in class
    Memorize your social security number
Fill out the "Freshman Applicants Admissions Application Worksheet" - also available at this link
Follow the instructions on the College Application Procedures on how to research the CUNY colleges

Please do not forget that Simmons and Wellesley Colleges will visit next week. Ladies plan to attend.

    Have a great weekend!

    Ana
